Virtual Team Building Rocks!

Early in March, when the COVID-19 pandemic began in the U.S.A., we at Premier Team Building® had the knee-jerk reaction of slamming on the proverbial brakes, and thinking that team building, and employee engagement, was finished, and, as such, the company was finished. Up to that point, we believed, and had operated under the notion, that team building is about the connections made, and the camaraderie, communication, and light-hearted competition experienced during face-to-face programs.Almost immediately, we began receiving requests for virtual and ‘at-a-distance’ experiences. When one of our creative colleagues profoundly stated “necessity is the mother of all invention,” we recognized that virtual programming was not only needed for our survival, but more importantly, for the survival of everyone else. Team building and employee engagement have proven more important now, with individuals isolated and working at home, than it was before this global pandemic . . . or at least more than it was previously perceived. So, we began to ponder the big questions . . . what would we create? How would we create? What would be our ‘niche’?We knew we had face-to-face programs that individuals adored, so we began by painstakingly reworking some of our favorite experiences and moving them from the common area to the home studio. Then we began to conceive, design, develop, and implement new experiences. Our approach is simple . . . we utilize Zoom, as our virtual platform, and supplement that with basic web technology, eliminating the need to download software, and ensuring that our experiences are ‘safe’ for all computers. Additionally, the majority of our experiences are hosted by an energetic, engaging emcee, who guides participants through the program. This was, and is, incredibly important to us, and is why we don’t merely provide a ‘computer game’ for individuals to play on their own.Recognizing that giving back is as important now as it was before the pandemic struck, many of our programs contain an optional philanthropic component. Our goals with our virtual and ‘at-a-distance’ experiences, are no different than they are with our ‘face-to-face’ experiences: to ensure that participants . . .

  • have heightened employee engagement.

  • develop stronger interpersonal communication skills.

  • have a new excitement for their work and teammates.

  • and connect in brand new fashions.

Additionally, we provide event hosts, emcees, and moderators for virtual conferences and meetings. But wait . . . all of our virtual experiences have a ‘family-friendly’ version, and most have an ‘adult-friendly’ version, perfect for ‘at-a-distance’ social engagements with friends and family members, both near and far! Most importantly, it was essential for us to be a ‘team player,’ during these challenging times. As such, we proudly priced all of these experiences, using special ‘COVID-19 pricing,’ and provided a raffle for a free experience, which we hope to do again, later in the autumn. While we look forward to face-to-face experiences, in the (hopefully near) future, we are proud of the experiences we offer virtually, and ‘at-a-distance.’ So, how can we help you connect?
