WHEELCHAIR AFFAIR
Big wheel keep on turnin’, Proud Mary keep on burnin’ . . . get ready for some turnin’ and burnin’ of your own, with Wheelchair Affair . . . a philanthropic team building experience sure to inspire even the grouchiest of curmudgeons. Many individuals are challenged with mobility. Whether it be from a car accident, a sporting event gone wrong, or serving their country, these individuals may not have the means to purchase a wheelchair. That’s where you come in. With screwdriver in hand, and spirited drive in heart, your team members will assemble brand-new wheelchairs for deserving individuals. Of course, nothing is ever as simple as it seems and this experience is no exception . . . part competition, part camaraderie, and all collaboration.
The Experience At A Glance
Wheelchair Affair starts off with an ice-breaking activity to get the competitive spirit flowing.
Teams collectively complete photo, video, and trivia challenges, using our iPad Minis, loaded with Premier Pursuits®, our proprietary app.
As various benchmarks are met, the tools and supplies needed to assemble the wheelchairs and win the gold medals are earned.
A distribution of talents is essential, as teams race to beat the clock. Those who are mechanically inclined will likely focus on chair assembly. Those who are more artistically inclined often find themselves creating homemade banners to attach to the chairs. And those with a dramatic flare tend to lead the team in its publicity campaign, to be performed live toward the end of the event.
Depending upon your timeframe, budget, and wishes, each team will build either two wheelchairs, or each team will build one wheelchair and assemble one knot blanket.
Whenever possible, a representative from the philanthropic organization accepting your generous donation, on behalf of the individuals who will receive it, will address your group, providing a heart-warming, face-to-face acknowledgment of your hard work.
"Working with Premier Team Building was an incredibly rewarding experience for our company, our client, and the organization that received the 42 wheelchairs.
I witnessed the transformation of a group of individuals into 21 supportive teams with the energy to blow the roof off the building - all created by Matt May and his team!
Our strong partnership with Premier Team Building will lead to continued success and opportunities to offer our clients.”
