GREAT AMERICAN GRILL-OFF


From one network to another, televisions are full of grilling shows, highlighting burgers, brats, and beyond. Our Great American Grill-Off pits teams against each other, in a quest worthy of Food Network. After competing in our face-off challenges, where they’re ranked, teams choose their ingredients and the real competition begins. We’ve combined a good old-fashioned backyard barbecue, with a smorgasbord of competitive challenges, all fused together for an afternoon you won’t soon forget. Which team’s members will prove to be the grill masters is up for grabs. Ultimately, a feast of flavors is enjoyed by all, with a roaming from grill to grill, sampling the homemade sliders and salads created by your participants. So grab your favorite spatula and get the dad jokes ready . . . this is the greatest grill-off this side of the backyard fence.

The Experience At A Glance

  • The competition starts off with a rousing icebreaker or two, building the competitive mood.

  • Teams then compete in our “M&Ms Face-Off” challenges, where they attempt to earn more points than their opponents, and are ranked.

  • Based upon this ranking, teams are invited to the general store, where they select their slider meat from a variety of options (beef, chicken, tofu (veggie), and pork are just a few of the possibilities), their choice of bread, salad fixins’, and special sauces.

  • Chefs begin cooking and the marketing team works on the restaurant’s unique name, logo, and live publicity presentation, while the service team trains for the grand opening.

  • The ultimate challenge is to create an award-worthy slider (grilling their homemade patties, and topping them with cheeses, vegetables, and special sauces) and a prized complementary salad, all for evaluation by judges tougher than Guy Fieri and Bobby Flay, combined.

  • In order to enhance the experience, many groups chose to add a selection of beverages, to the program. This is an excellent way to “pair” the food made by your group. “Suds” anyone?!?!

  • And, of course, the final stage is visiting each team’s station, tasting the different grub. An outdoor meal activity, perfect for the summer months, our Great American Grill-Off is sure to hit the bull’s-eye.
